My collection of stuff from the Deviantart store. These came in recently and were prizes from the When Darkness Falls contest. I have mixed feeings over the products...so I've decided to do a bit of a review (apologies, but I didn't really set it out properly and my camera is an insult to the name 'camera'...even phones are better)

Super Llama Plushie [link] from £deviantARTGear $20 USD
Rating: :star::star-half::star-empty::star-empty::star-empty:

I was really unhappy with this product and wrote a scathing review of it (comment can be read here: [link] ).
Basically, if you look closely, the llama can't even pose on four legs (its back leg is too short, does not touch the table and is screwed up in general). When it is able to stand it does it in a very unstable and drunken fashion. Furthermore, when extensively handled, the fluff is prone to coming out.
I think Deviantart should really improve the quality of this because, frankly, it is not up to scratch (well the one I got sent wasn't, at least it was free ^_^)

Deviantart Matte Fine Art Print by *JonasDeRo $19.99USD

Rating: :star::star::star::star-half::star-empty:

The rating is (obviously) based off the quality of the print not the actual artwork :lol: An extra half star was given as it smells EXACTLY like my treasured Lord of the Rings book ;)

First off, I really love the artwork :deviation: and was so happy that I could get a print of it :happybounce: (recently I've had a sudden, inexplicable obsession with Chinese scenery and culture and this reminds me of Guilin :heart:)

The print came out pretty fine (sorry its a little dark in my pic). As expected the colours weren't as 'magical' as in the digital version, although it still looks quite stunning. I have no idea how to judge 'print quality' but it seems fairly average (the paper is quite thick and heavy although it isn't perfectly clear) and looks best when viewed from a short distance. I was pleasantly suprised by the size of the print (it is actually way larger than I imagined it to be) and quite worth the price if one were to buy it.
My only qualms with this is with the dA print store whose restrictive print sizing meant that the image had to be cropped :( Also, the thing was shipped in a ridiculously massive parcel which weighed at least a kilo, was twice the height of the print and with a capacity of at least 8L (yes I calculated)...not wonder shipping prices are so damn high...

Overall the service was pretty bad. Given that I wasn't paying for anything, I guess that can be expected. I requested to get two $20 prints instead of a $40 one and a Tee of the same value instead of a (useless) llama plushie. I was told that the stuff was being sent and was quite disappointed to uncover a llama and only one print worth $20 (fortunately it was the print I really wanted). I hope they treat paying customers better.
Shipping times were pretty good and I was quite happy to get these (separately) in 3-4 weeks of being notified.

So there...

tl;dr

:bulletgreen:Super Llama plushie is shit quality.

:bulletgreen:Fine Art prints are okay (they're good when you've chosen a nice artwork)

:bulletgreen:dA Pro Nomad bag (which I already regret buying, damn the allure of free shipping) review will be added as soon as I receive it.

:) I haven't reviewed the nomad bag yet, but I hope it comes soon so that I can (although at it's price unless it gives me superpowers I don't think I'll be impressed lol) :eager: Btw, did you get one?
And yeah, *JonasDeRo's works are just :jawdrop:

Yeah I think they should do it more often because purchasing stuff outside of the US (especially bags...$70 to where I live) isn't affordable. :fingerscrossed: I hope it will be a good bag...

Does it spit? like a real llama or just dribble? :D

:iconyobtaf:
It definitely falls over a lot. As to either of those, I'd bet on the dribbling. With the neck problems it has, I think it is quite incapable of spitting...

It looks like a hybrid, maybe that's why it looks so demented.

...What sort of hybrid?
I initially thought it to be disabled...poor thing :(
